little feet tripping along
laces hanging loose
dirt underfoot kicking up dust
rains pours down from above
now mud splashing as they run
warmth of hearts and room
caked mud cracks by the fire
steam curling from hot cocoa
warm pjs and slippers all four
hearts together safe from the cold
